What does an investigation cost?
Investigations can vary in cost. Standard practice is to bill by the hour based off a retainer that is paid up front. This retainer is a one-time rate for the amount of hours agreed upon by the client at the initial consultation.
Are there any hidden or additional fees other than the retainer?
No. You will only be charged once. The only additional fees will be if you (the client) agree to have additional hours worked beyond what was agreed for the retainer and you have full understanding of the additional costs up front.
Can I do an investigation myself?
NEVER attempt to follow anyone yourself. If you are spotted, it will damage your case. This will also make it much more difficult for the professional investigator to find the information you desire. Be extremely careful with this, especially if you plan on hiring a professional sometime in the future.
How confidential is an investigation?
At Info-Trak Incorporated, confidentiality is our number ONE priority. We will NOT share nor disseminate any information about you or your case without your express written authorization. In addition, all investigations are performed discreetly, you can be assured of the strictest confidence, for your Peace of Mind.
How long does an investigation take?
An investigation's time of completion can vary, depending on the case type and the complexity of your request. Generally, smaller cases can be done within a week and complex cases can take months. However, you get updates on your case once information is input into the file, that way every time we work, you will know about it.
How do I receive my report(s)?
We can provide your reports verbally, written, or by e-mail. You will receive a completed written report with all facts of your particular case once it is completed.
How can your investigator's experience help me?
By solving your case. Our investigative staff consists of veteran law enforcement officers and seasoned private investigators, who combine years of specialized training with even more years of extensive experience. Years of training and experience means results for you.
Will you investigate me before taking my case?
Possibly. Some people, such as stalkers, have bad intentions for hiring a private investigator. Private Investigators deal in privacy, legal, and ethical matters. So Info-Trak Incorporated may conduct a background investigation on a potential client to avoid helping a stalker (for example) locate a victim. We may need to know more about a potential client than what they tell us about themselves before we can agree to investigate their case.
Will you charge me if you can't find the person I am looking for?
Yes. Info-Trak Incorporated will open your case with the understanding that we may not be successful in finding the person you are looking for. This is an unfortunate and industry-wide aspect of some investigations. Still, we must charge clients for the time we spend working on your case in order to compensate our investigators. With that in mind, we do have a great success rate in locating people and we promise to make every possible effort to provide you with the best service for your money. We don't want you to waste it.
Are your investigators licensed?
Yes. The State of Ohio requires that all private investigators in the State be required to be licensed through the Ohio Department of Commerce. You can verify an investigator's license at the ODOC site. Info-Trak Incorporated's license number is 2002000964.
Are you insured?
Yes. Info-Trak Incorporated carries a $2,000,000 Errors and Omissions and Liability insurance policy.
Would you interview witnesses or others who provide leads?
Yes, if necessary. These types of interviews may be conducted in person or over the phone. Often, however, Info-Trak Incorporated can obtain information for a client by searching databases that are accessible only to licensed private investigators, and not the general public. In those cases, we may not need to interview anyone, which will save the client money because less time would be spent investigating.
Will you conduct "cheating spouses" investigations?
Yes. These are also known as Domestic Investigations. We will conduct surveillance on a spouse and provide you with any evidence that we can obtain legally. See our Signs of a Cheating Spouse page.
